Odpowiedni do Insanity

Like a game of Battleships, but without the battle. Or the ships.
Now here's something a bit different. The actual meaty goodness in today's Bad Meal is the picture above. You'll have to actually click on it to get a good look at it, at which point you can probably right-click, 'Save Image As...'. It's actual size is 2000x1100, so a little bigger than a widescreen monitor at 1920x1080 resolution.

Anyway, what is this eye-bleeding monstrosity? Basically, it's one answer to the question 'How best to translate odpowiedni?' And if you don't know Polish, then look at the picture and bear in mind that about 90% of all the English words in it are possible translations of odpowiedni. Sometimes, when you want to get high but there are no drugs around, all you have to do is open an English<>Polish słownik.

How do we use this ridiculously beige scribble then? It's actually quite simple. Choose a word from the left column (any one of which is odpowiedni). Let's use relevant as an example. Where relevant and relevant meet, you have the OED definition (I'm still using the giant 2nd Ed. Rev. from 2005).

Now, do you see the X where relevant and appropriate meet? This tells you that in the full description used by Oxford to illustrate relevant, the word appropriate is also used. In this case:

relevant (adj) closely connected or appropriate to the matter in hand.

In this way, you can see which are the closest possible valid synonyms for each of these words, because believe me, there are loads - this is just a good selection!

Now, I'm reasonably sure that I've done this thing correctly, but as always, pipe up if you spot a mistake - either here or over on the Book of Face. :)
